The Thin Line Between 3 Idiots & Five Point Someone

Share

The public spat between the author of Five Point Someone, Chetan Bhagat, and the makers of movie based on it - 3 Idiots - doesn’t seem to die down. While Chetan claims around 70 per cent of the film is lifted from the book, its lead actor Aamir Khan believes only 5 per cent of the book is embodied in the flick. Let’s try and de-mystify the similarities and differences between the movie and the book.

Similarities:

1.Broadly speaking, the plot of the film is the same as the book. Both stories are about three students of an engineering college who form an inseparable friendship over incidents that take place in the college.
2.The three characters in the book are very similar to those of the movie. While one of them - Ryan (Aamir as Rancho) - is radical and thinks differently from the rest, the second one - Hari (Madhavan as Farhaan) - is a confused character. The book’s third character - Alok (Sharman as Raju) - is facing severe financial and domestic pressures.
3.The narrators are same in both the cases.
4.Some dialogues in the movie — “the examiner looked at me as if I had asked for his kidneys” and “define machine” — seem to be a straight lift from the book.
5.In the book, Neha (Kareena as Pia) tells her dad Cherian (Professor Viru played by Boman Irani) why her brother committed suicide due to the latter’s demanding and dominating behaviour. Similar episode takes place in the film as well. However, the book talks about this incident in much more detail than the movie which covers this branch of the storyline in a single scene

Asked if Rani Mukerji will also star or will have any role to play in or around the movie to which Raaja said, “Rani’s good wishes and support is always there for her family and in all their ventures.” Starring Adhyayan Suman, Divya Dutta, Sushant Singh, Aushima Sawhney, Rahul Dev, introducing Vaibhavi Upadhyay, Puneet Vashist and Anita Hassanandani,
Life Ise Gale Laga Le is a reverse journey from death to life.

Shahid Kapoor Avoids A Road Mishap On Scooty

Share

In the film Chance Pe Dance it’s believed that when Shahid’s character asks Genelia to keep riding the scooty, a stern Genelia absolutely refuses to jump a red light even though all roads are completely devoid of traffic.
In another shot when Genelia was to drive fast through heavy traffic, their scooty was attached to a towing vehicle and they needed to take a lot of turns to get the shot right. With each turn Ken kept asking the towing truck to go faster and faster, as a result of which the scooter kept getting faster too. At one turn the speed was so fast that the side wheels of the scooty went up and Genelia and Shahid were seconds away from flying in the air, attached to the tow truck… Ken shouted ‘cut’ and finally the shot came to an end without any bodily harm to the lead pair. Genelia clearly managed to keep the scooter under her control.

Aamir Khan Will Now Concentrate Only On Wife Kiran’s Film

The so called Mr. perfectionist Aamir Khan now plans to take a break from acting this year as he wants to concentrate on his role as the producer of Delhi Belly, Peepli Live and Dhobi Ghat. “I want to take a break from acting this year. So no shootings for me. I would like to concentrate more as a producer,” Aamir said at a press conference in Big Cinemas.
“I will be reading scripts as an actor but I am not sure whether I would be saying yes to acting. I would like to market my films internationally as I personally feel that our films have potential in the international market,” he pointed out. This year, Aamir will be seen in home production Dhobi Ghat, which has been directed by his wife Kiran Rao.
With his ‘one-year-one-movie’ plan, Aamir has managed to deliver superhits one after another and says he has been lucky in terms of directors and scripts. “I try to pick up films that I love or which move me emotionally. I have been lucky in the last 10 years to be successful. It’s because I have been lucky enough to work with directors who are very very good,” Aamir maintained.

Anushka Sharma Is Too Busy To Take Her Awards

Share

The gorgeous beauty Anushka Sharma has been so busy travelling on outdoor schedules for Parmeet Sethi’s directorial debut to the States and Thailand that she has had little time for anything else. Recently, she completed one year in the industry and it seemed almost commemorative when she received an award for best debutante for her role in the film Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. What made the award even more special was the fact that she was up against debutantes from across the country and not just Bollywood.
Unfortunately, Anushka could not even be present at the award function as it happened to coincide with the last day of shooting for Parmeet’s film which was being shot out of Mumbai. Said the actress, “I missed out on being present for the Mahurat of Patiala House and the award function which happened to be on the same day and got to know of my win only later that night while I was driving back.” The actress can now look to breathe easy as she will now be shooting in the country for the next few months and hopes not to miss out on anything else.
