Anushka Sharma To Star With Aamir In ‘Peekay’

Actress Anushka Sharma who is fondly known as Yash Raj Films camp’s favourite girl will be apparently signing Raj Kumar Hirani’s next directorial venture PEEKAY. According to the media reports, Anushka Sharma and Hirani had a couple of meetings probably regarding the film.

Speculations are also doing the rounds that Mr. Perfectionist Aamir Khan will be playing the male lead in PEEKAY.

Initially, there was also a buzz about the filmmaker signing actor Ranbir Kapoor for the role as Aamir was committed to other films and had no dates.

Aamir Khan’s Indirect Role In Don 2

Our headlines may come as a surprise to most as the two top Khans, Aamir and Shah Rukh, though cordial to each other are not exactly bosom pals. But hold on to your horses because what we are saying is true, though there is bit of a twist to the tale.

As is known, in February 2011, Shah Rukh Khan was in Malaysia’s exotic tourist island, Langkawi, to shoot for DON 2. During his two week sojourn, King Khan stayed at Langkawi’s The Danna Hotel, located very close to the shooting venue, the cable car and the rain forest.

It may well be a co-incidence of sorts but the fact is that (believe it or not!) the name of the general manager of The Danna Hotel was Aamir Khan, who made sure that SRK’s stay was a very comfortable one. The interesting information came to our knowledge during our recent visit to Langkawi!

Well, we are sure that Aamir Khan’s efforts were not in vain because we know for sure that some of the most stunning shots from DON 2 are from the Langkawi portions, but more on that later!

Death Defying Parkour Stunt By Aamir Khan In Dhoom 3

Ask Aamir to do a film and Mr. Perfectionist will do what not to make his film look just ‘perfect’.

Just few days back we heard, Aamir Khan  is perfecting the art of ballet dancing for his upcoming film DHOOM 3 since he had to stand on his toes in a particular scene of the film.

Now the buzz is that the perfectionist Khan will start training for the death-defying sport Parkour shortly.

A close hand reveals that there is this key sequence in the film that has an extensive shot of Parkour. And Aamir insisted to do the stunt himself.

Directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya DHOOM 3 also stars Abhishek Bachchan and Katrina Kaif. The movie is slated to release by Christmas 2012. 

Aamir & Shahrukh Take It Globally

The year 2011 could very well be the decisive year in the Shah Rukh Khan-Aamir Khan battle for one-upmanship. If all goes according to plan, next year both the superstars will go international with a film each by two of the most celebrated directors on the global map.
What gives the global war of the Khans a cutting edge is the striking similarity in location of the two proposed projects. Both films are set in Mumbai, with the city playing as large a role in the script as each of the Khans.
While Slumdog Millionaire director Danny Boyle is ready to adapt Suketu Mehta’s celebrated novel, Maximum City to screen, Aamir is set to play the lead in Paul Schrader’s X-Treme City for producer Anubhav Sinha, to be shot in Dharavi.
Both films are realistic takes on present-day Mumbai, its splendour and stench. Boyle and Schrader have already visited Mumbai a number of times and met the two stars who have reportedly agreed to be part of the respective films.

Aamir & Shahrukh Bonded Over Dinner In London

Let bygones be bygones, leaving all the odd feelings behind, Aamir Khan and Shahrukh Khan bonded over dinner in London. The two reining Khans of Bollywood who always makes news for their rivalry has this time around hit the gossip column for being friendly with each other.
Aamir Khan who is in London to promote his new film, ‘Peepli Live’ invited Shahrukh Khan to dinner at the Hakkasan restaurant in London on Friday night and they along with Karan Johar and Gauri Khan bonded over the famous Japanese dishes, sushi and sashimi.
The foursome had a gala time. All were seen in an upbeat mood chatting, dining and laughing. Shahrukh Khan was in London to shoot for sci-fic ‘Ra One with Kareena Kapoor. Karan flew to the UK for 20 days to spend quality time with his friend Shahrukh Khan and also work on his script.
A fan of both Khans said, “There were some jokes being cracked over which SRK and Aamir were laughing a lot. Gauri seemed to enjoy herself watching these guys cracking up.”

Aamir Khan To Perform On Stage After 10 Years

It may sound unbelievable but thats the fact. The occasion must be very special, for it has convinced none other than Aamir Khan to perform in it! Cine Artistes Association has planned a concert with the motive of improving the standard and generating funds for the junior artistes of Bollywood. And if sources are to be believed, superstar Aamir Khan will be seen on the stage performing for the audience after 10 long years.


On January 15, the Bollywood superstar, currently riding a wave of success with ‘3 Idiots’, will record his part for a concert that is being put up by the Cine & Television Artistes Association. Aamir reportedly agreed to do this concert because it is for a cause.

According to Johny Lever, the President of the Cine Artistes Association, “Our association has completed 50 years. I have personally requested Shah Rukh Khan,Salman Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Akshay Kumar, Aamir Khan, Hrithik Roshan and several other Bollywood biggies to perform for us. We need funds to rehabilitate and provide resources to junior artistes who are finding it hard to make ends meet.”

Aamir Khan Take A Break From Acting In 2010 To Produce Films

Bollywood star Aamir Khan is known to strive for perfection. He now plans to take a break from acting this year as he wants to concentrate on his role as the producer of ‘Delhi Belly’, ‘Peepli Love’ and ‘Dhobi Ghat’.

Aamir Khan said at a press conference in Big Cinemas here late Friday, “I want to take a break from acting this year. So no shootings for me. I would like to concentrate more as a producer”. He pointed out, “I will be reading scripts as an actor but I am not sure whether I would be saying yes to acting. I would like to market my films internationally as I personally feel that our films have potential in the international market”.
This year, Aamir will be seen in home production ‘Dhobi Ghat’, which has been directed by his wife Kiran Rao. With his ‘one year one movie’ plan, Aamir Khan has managed to deliver superhits one after another and says he has been lucky in terms of directors and scripts.
Aamir maintained, “I try to pick up picks that I love or which move me emotionally. I have been lucky in the last 10 years to be successful. Its because I have been lucky enough to work with directors who are very very good”.

Aamir Is God : Kareena Kapoor

Kapoor has a lot to celebrate. Her film 3 Idiots is a runaway hit. And Kareena decided to run away to Delhi to be with her sister Karisma for New Year celebrations. Sounding more relaxed than she did recently, Kareena took time off from the very special family gathering to speak.

She said, “I have been running around frantically promoting my film. And then I was ailing for a week. I decided I had to be well for the festive season. Christmas was a very special occasion for my mom and sister. But we never get to be together for the occasion. This time I was adamant. I made sure I took time off from work so that all of us girls could spend time together. My mom and I were here in Delhi to spend time with my sister and niece”.
Kareena laughs, “Karisma and I do not get to spend that much time together. She has her home and husband in Delhi. My career takes me all over the place. Mom cribs we are never together. This year end reunion was something we had promised ourselves from long before”.
In Delhi, Kareena is over whelmed by the response to her new fim 3 Idiots. She said, “Everywhere I go I am swamped by compliments for the role. The length of the role did not matter. I am just glad to be part of a historic happening. When Rajkumar Hirani and Aamir asked me to be part of their film I jumped at it. I knew the film would be special because of Raju and Aamir, and I was right. As far as our cinema is concerned, Aamir is God”.
Reacting to the opinion that Kareena hardly has anything to do in her new film Kareena says, “Who says I have nothing to do. I am very part of the main drama. Would the story forward if you remove my character”?
Kareena Kapoor is specially pleased by the compliments she has received for her pairing with Aamir Khan. She states, “Everyone thinks we look good together. I think Aamair and I make a fantastic pair, I would love to do another film with him immediately, this time I do not want share him with other pivotal characters”.
In fact talks are on with two leading filmmakers including Mani Ratnam who is apparently all set to revive his Aamir-Kareena project “Lajjo”. AR Rahman and Gulzar have even recorded the songs.
Looking back on the year Kareena feels happy about the response to her performances in Kurbaan and 3 Idiots. She says, “Both films are very precious to me. Kurbaan was intense, 3 Idiots was more fun. In 2010 I did film with all the Khans…..Salman, Aamir, Shahrukh (I had a song with him in Billu) and of course Saif”.

The Thin Line Between 3 Idiots & Five Point Someone

The public spat between the author of Five Point Someone, Chetan Bhagat, and the makers of movie based on it - 3 Idiots - doesn’t seem to die down. While Chetan claims around 70 per cent of the film is lifted from the book, its lead actor Aamir Khan believes only 5 per cent of the book is embodied in the flick. Let’s try and de-mystify the similarities and differences between the movie and the book.

Similarities:

1.Broadly speaking, the plot of the film is the same as the book. Both stories are about three students of an engineering college who form an inseparable friendship over incidents that take place in the college.
2.The three characters in the book are very similar to those of the movie. While one of them - Ryan (Aamir as Rancho) - is radical and thinks differently from the rest, the second one - Hari (Madhavan as Farhaan) - is a confused character. The book’s third character - Alok (Sharman as Raju) - is facing severe financial and domestic pressures.
3.The narrators are same in both the cases.
4.Some dialogues in the movie — “the examiner looked at me as if I had asked for his kidneys” and “define machine” — seem to be a straight lift from the book.
5.In the book, Neha (Kareena as Pia) tells her dad Cherian (Professor Viru played by Boman Irani) why her brother committed suicide due to the latter’s demanding and dominating behaviour. Similar episode takes place in the film as well. However, the book talks about this incident in much more detail than the movie which covers this branch of the storyline in a single scene

Aamir Khan’s 3 Idiots Sets New Records At The Box Office

Aamir Khan made a hat-trick with his third Christmas release in a row3 Idiots after, Taare Zameen Par (2007) and Ghajini (2008) has brought huge cheer to the box office. Breaking his own film Ghajini’s record, 3 Idiots is fast racing to be amongst the biggest blockbusters of all times.

Trade sources state, “3 Idiots has set a new record for Paid preview shows by grossing Rs. 2.25 crore nett. The previous record holder Ghajini did a business of Rs. 1.75 crore net. The reports are very good and the film is a winner all the way and just remains to be seen if it can do blockbuster business. Three Idiots has hit the box office like a hurricane and has smashed many first day records at the box office

The first day business was an unimaginable Rs. 12.75 crore nett. The previous record for the first Friday was Rs. 9.25 crore nett recorded by Ghajini last December.” Another trade pundit however adds, “It must also be noted that the 3 Idiots first day was a Christmas Day holiday while Ghajini first Friday was a normal day but even accounting for that, it is still a phenomenal collection.

This takes the 3 Idiots total to 15.50 crore nett with paid previews (2.75 crore nett) and the weekend seems to be heading for 37-39 crore nett collections which is truly mind boggling.”

Aamir Khan Is Sorry To Shahrukh’s Kids

It is observed that King Khan Shah Rukh Khan has buried the hatchet with Aamir Khan ever since the “Ghajini” star apologised to his children for making fun of him. Shah Rukh said he has no hard feelings for his colleague.
“We often visit each other’s home and we have love and respect for each other. I don’t think there was any need for him to apologise because it is not really a big thing for me. Both of us don’t take these things seriously but it is the media that exaggerates the whole situation,” Shah Rukh said.
Aamir tendered an apology to Shah Rukh’s kids for hurting their sentiments before taking a pot shot at the latter when he mentioned his wife Kiran in an answer to a reporter as “Kkk… Kiran” - a dialogue made famous by Shah Rukh in his 1993 hit “Darr”.
“I’ve offered my heartfelt apologies to Shah Rukh’s kids, not to Shah Rukh but to his kids,” Aamir had recently said.

Aamir & Salman Khan - The Bonding Between Them

It sounds like a big surprise but Aamir Khan and Salman Khan have been bonding like thick buddies. Who can forget Salman’s personal ode to Ghajini when he painted Aamir’s portraits (in the Ghajini look) ahead of the film’s release last year. Though the SRK-Salman cold war may have driven a wedge through the industry and its camp-loyal folks, Aamir’s friendship with Salman has remained unaffected.
The two stars make it a point to meet and spend some time together whenever their busy schedules permit. But we now learn that they also go out for rides on Salman’s mobike when the streets of Mumbai are almost deserted in the dead of the night.
According to reports, Aamir first drives to Salman’s Bandra residence where he parks his car. Later, the duo ride out on Salman’s bike while a small pose of security guards follows them. After the ride, the duo often sits down for a chat over a couple of drinks either at Salman’s place or at Aamir’s.
