When Selena Gomez boarded a flight to Mexico yesterday, she did so alongside Justin Bieber. Arriving south of the border, she still had her boyfriend in tow. Only she also had something new to show off: a ring, one which most definitely rested on her engagement finger. So, all together now: take a deep breath -- then tell us: Are these two planning a wedding?
But first, yesterday's poll: Seeing as Ashton Kutcher ended his six-year marriage to Demi Moore a mere month ago, we weren't too surprised to learn 60 percent of Zimbio readers thought his flirt show with Lea Michele was "gross." Just because the two star as lovers in their upcoming film New Year's Eve, doesn't mean we want to see them getting all handsy on the red carpet.
But back to two madly in love pop stars, and the ring that could forever change the face of humanity. Doomsday advocates, and Roland Emmerich, seem convinced the world will end in 2012. However, we're inclined to bet the Mayans had no idea Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez would one day unite in perfect, teenage harmony.
Aside from all the Beliebers who would undoubtedly break down in prepubescent tears, it's clear their union would do more to solve world hunger and economic disparity than Congress. Not since the time all those rings came together to create Captain Planet, has the universe had such an opportunity to shine.
Of course, Gomez could just as likely have found a ring in her pocket that she thought looked nice, and put it on without thinking twice about the implications. But where's the fun in that idea?
