Hrithik Roshan Leaves Shahrukh & Salman Behind

Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan has emerged as the sexiest Asian Man in the World of the year 2011. According to a survey conducted by the Eastern Eye Weekly, Hrithik, 37, beat off tough competition fromhigh profile stars to top the 50-strong list. The popular A-list actor won by the biggest ever margin in the history of the men’s list to topple last year’s winner Ranbir Kapoor, who finished sixth.

Hrithik, who came third, last year, got votes from all over the world from fans of different ages and cultures via social networking sites.

Described by many as a Greek God, Hrithik went back to winning ways in 2011 playing the lead role in mega-hit movie ZINDAGI NA MILEGI DOBARA and also had his wax statue added to the Madame Tussauds museum in London.

‘He also shot for the hotly anticipated AGNEEPATH remake, featured as a judge on hit TV show ‘Just Dance’ and signed up for hotly anticipated superhero moviesequel KRRISH 2,’ the weekly said.

Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor was the surprise runner up, with Shah Rukh Khan in the third and Salman Khan in the fourth position.

”Hrithik is a worthy winner and a leading man with global appeal. This year there was a massive gap between Hrithik and the rest of the competitors. He is the perfect ambassador for India and someone who could take on anyone in Hollywood in terms of looks, talent and likability,” said a showbiz editor.

Indian batsman Virat Kohli at 18, was the highest new entry in the 2011 list. Other big named new entries included Abhishek Bachchan at 17, Prateik Babbar at 20, Ajay Devgn at 29 and Farhan Akhtar at 34. The highest placed Pakistani was once again Ali Zafar at 5, the highest placed British star was Jay Sean (9) and the highest placed sportsman was World Boxing championAamir Khan (10).

Other notable names in the list are John Abraham (7), Akshay Kumar (9), Arjun Rampal (11), actor Imran Khan (12), Saif Ali Khan (13), Atif Aslam (16), Riz Ahmed (21), Siddhartha Mallya (31), Mahendra Dhoni (33), Aamir Khan (35), Zaheer Khan (39) and hip hop star Shizzio (46).

Hrithik Roshan’s Agneepath To Be Released Internationally

Eros International Media Ltd (EIML), a leadingglobal company in the Indian film entertainmentindustry, has announced that it shall be releasing Dharma Productions’ AGNEEPATH, one of the most eagerly awaited releases in the New Year in the international markets on January 26, 2012.

Announcing the deal, Pranab Kapadia, President – Marketing & Distribution, Eros International plc said, “AGNEEPATH marks the first of the big ticketreleases next year and Eros is excited about associating with Dharma Productions to present this thrilling action film on a global platform. Audiences are looking forward to Hrithik’s portrayal of the legendary Vijay Dinanath Chauhan, made famous by Amitabh Bachchan while Sanjay Dutt’s villainous look has stirred up much curiosity. The promos have evoked very good reactions and we are anticipating a very encouraging response to the film.”

AGNEEPATH directed by Karan Malhotra is homage to the cult 1990 classic directed by the late Mukul S Anand. The action drama stars Hrithik Roshan playing the role of Vijay Dinanath Chauhan originally played by Amitabh Bachchan. The film also stars Priyanka Chopra, Sanjay Dutt as the menacing ‘Kancha Cheena’ and Rishi Kapoor who also essays an antagonist in the film.

Hrithik Speaks On Katrina

Greek god Hrithik Roshan seems to be quite impressed with Katrina Kaif’s team spirit and feels her unselfishness has made her so successful in filmdom, while the actress praises him describing him as a “phenomenal” actor.

“I had not seen any of her films until I had started working with her in Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. It just happened that I had not been able to see her films,” Hrithik told.

“I was absolutely delighted to work with her. She is a team player, she is not a selfish actor. I like to work with people who give themselves to work, towards the entirety of same goal, that’s what she is, that’s how she is. That’s what has got her so far. What I have seen of her and what people have seen of her on screen is not even 10 percent of what she is capable of,” he added.

The actor’s film, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara is releasing on July 15, along with co-stars Abhay Deol, Farhan Akhtar, Katrina and Kalki Koechlin.

Katrina couldn’t stop raving about Hrithik either.

“Thank you for saying that you have not seen any of my films. I didn’t know that. I have seen his films and have always been a huge fans of his work, he’s a phenomenal actor and I was really excited to have got a chance to work with him,” she said.

Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara - Preview - A Brief Story

Zoya Akhtar follows up her first film, Luck By Chance, with Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, which once again stars her brother, Farhan Akhtar, and Hrithik Roshan, Abhay Deol, Kalki Koechlin and Katrina Kaif. The film is produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani of Excel Entertainment. The film has been shot in many foreign locations, including Spain and Egypt.
The music has been done by Shankar Ehsaan Loy, while the lyrics have been penned by Javed Akhtar. The film is set to release on July 15th, 2011.
Synopsis:
3 young men take a holiday that changes their lives forever.
Kabir (Abhay Deol) has just met Natasha. Six months later, they are engaged.
He wants to go on an extended bachelor party. A three week road trip with Imraan (Farhan akhtar) and Arjun (Hrithik Roshan) - his two best friends since school. Akshay Kumar’s Wish To Work With Hrithik

Bollywood star Akshay Kumar is sure he can’t match dance steps with Hrithik Roshan, but he hopes to make an action film with him some day.
Akshay was quick to shower praise upon Hrithik after watching the promo of the latter’s forthcoming dance reality show “Just Dance”.
“Hrithik is a one of a kind actor… He must know he makes all us heroes envy his moves… What that man brings to the dance floor is refreshing, extremely talented, and everything the youth needs to see in a hero,” said Akshay.
Akshay hopes Hrithik plans to open a dance school soon.

Hrithik & Priyanka Escape Accidents While Shooting For Agneepath Remake

An aarti scene found Agneepath stars Hrithik Roshan and Priyanka Chopra playing with fire quite literally. While Duggu suffered minor burns shooting the scene, PC escaped unscathed but her lehenga caught fire and had to be change.
This is HR’s second accident on the sets of the Karan Johar production. He hurt his hand while breaking a coconut in an earlier scene. His accidents have proved lucky for his films in the past. We wonder if it will bring luck to this one too.
A source recounts what happened: “Hrithik was shooting the Ganapati puja scene. He was holding a big thali with several lit diyas (lamps) and doing the aarti. During one rotation, one diya toppled over, spilling hot oil on his hand, scalding it.
No one was any wiser for it until Duggu rushed to apply ice on the affected area. When the crew understood, the shoot was immediately stopped. It wasn’t a serious injury but Hrithik was in pain. He resumed shooting as soon as his pain subsided. He then joked about his injuries being lucky charms for his films.”

Hrithik Roshan To Darken His Skin Tone For ‘Agneepath’

Actor Hrithik Roshan who is working on the remake of ‘Agneepath’ will be sporting a darker skin tone for his character in the film. He has done this before for the Yash Raj Film, ‘Dhoom 2’ where he played the role of an anti-hero.
Hrithik seems to be taking this role very seriously and he is leaving no stones unturned to get into the skin of the strong character he is about to play in the flick.
He is playing the role of Vijay Dinanath Chauhan in the classic remake, the original of which was portrayed by Amitabh Bachchan. ‘Agneepath’ is being filmed in Mumbai at the moment.
Amitabh Bachchan who played the iconic character in the film won many accolades for his role. It will be quiet exciting to see how the genX actor plays the part.
All are anticipating to watch Duggu in the film not just because he plays the iconic character of Vijay Dinanath Chauhan but also because it is the first time filmmaker-producer Karan Johar has decided to deviate from his patent choice of casting SRK in all his films so far.

Hrithik Roshan Bleeds On The Sets Of Agneepath

We all know that Hrithik Roshan is starring in the remake of ‘Agneepath’ –  the cult bollywood gangster acted by the magnificent Amitabh Bachchan. Produced by Dharma productions, the movie fetched the national award for the best actor to Amitabh Bachchan and best supporting actor to Mithun Da ( Mithun Chakraborty) in 1990.
The cult in his 2011 version is said to have the slick and the ‘in’ look where the B-town handsome hunk Hrithik will play the role of Vijay Dinanath Chauhan and dreaded Kaacha Chhena wil be enacted by none other than Sanju baba who returns to his good bad ways with a punch.
While shooting for the film in Versova, Hrithik Roshan got injured.  The scene required Hrithik to break a coconut on the ground.

Hrithik’s Mind Blowing Abs In His Upcoming Film

Director Zoya Akhtar’s Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara has been creating a lot of pomp in the recent times. With its multi-starrer cast and an uncommon name, the film has managed to grab the audience attention from day one. The filmmakers have finally launched the first look (poster) of the film.
The poster features, the three male lead of the film, namely Farhan Akhtar, Hrithik Roshan and Abhay Deol. The poster tries to fill a curiosity among the viewers, by only showing a portion of the actors face and by hiding the eyes and forehead. Hrithik Roshan is seen flaunting his chiseled body, while Farhan and Abhay are donning a cool look. The pictures shows the actors on a road trip.
Apart from Farhan, Hrithik and Abhay Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara also stars Katrina Kaif, Kalki Koechlin and Ariadna Cabrol as its female lead. The film is being produced by Riteish Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar and is being directed by Zoya Akhtar. The music for Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara has been composed by Shankar Ehsaan Loy.

And The Nominations For The 12th IIFA Awards Are…

The IIFA 2011 nominations were announced with film favourites – ‘Dabangg’, ‘Rajneeti’, ‘My Name is Khan’, ‘Band Baajaa Baraat’ and ‘Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai’.
The International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) will celebrate the 12th Videocon IIFA Weekend and the Micromax IIFA Awards in Toronto, Ontario, Canada this year. The three day Weekend will be held from June 23rd-25th, 2011.
Supporting the Weekend and Awards at the conference Longtime IIFA supporter, Indian Cinema super star, Hrithik Roshan addressed the media saying, “As always it is a great honour for me to come to IIFA and join in the revelry with the rest of the fraternity. Having witnessed so many IIFA’s, I see IIFA Toronto as a landmark for the Wizcraft team and our fraternity, confirming the reach of Indian Cinema, and I could not be more thrilled to represent this great industry and meet the fans in Canada. After the success of the Micromax IIFA Awards in Colombo, Riteish Deshmukh and Boman Irani will once again play hosts at the Awards in Toronto. This will be Boman’s fifth time at the Awards, while good friend and fellow-actor Riteish will co-host for the fourth time. Talking of the 12th Awards and his hosting stint, Boman Irani said, “I am honoured to host the Awards for the fifth time this year. It is always wonderful to be a part of this larger than life event and hosting is an assignment that I look forward to each year.”

Hrithik Roshan Is Thrilled With Dhoni’s Performance

Actor Hrithik Roshan was bowled over by the magnificent performance of Team India in the World Cup final against Sri Lanka and says skipper M.S. Dhoni’s winning six was the perfect end to the match.
“Last (Saturday) night, Indian team proved themselves to be the biggest heroes. They were up against one of the best teams. It’s the madness that carried them through. And the final winning six of Dhoni… I am a cinema guy so in my way I would say it was a perfect screenplay,” Hrithik told reporters at the launch of Provogue’s new Spring Summer Catalogue at Novotel Hotel here Sunday.
India defeated Sri Lanka at the ICC World Cup final by six wickets to lift the World Cup after 28 years. India had last won the cup in 1983.
Actress Sonakshi Sinha accompanied Hrithik at the launch of the catalogue. The two endorse the brand’s respective female and male lines respectively.

There Are Some Serious Issues Between Hrithik & Shahrukh

This is a known fact that Shah Rukh Khan and Hrithik Roshan, along with their respective spouses, have been great friends, from going on holiday together, to partying together at each others house.
Which is why it was surprising that when King Khan threw a party in honour of Hugh Jackman (who is in Mumbai attending the FIICI Frames 2011 event), he did not invite Hrithik and his lovely wife Susanne to the party.
Hrithik was terribly upset over being left out of his ‘good friends’ guest list so much so that when Hrithik and wife threw their own party, they happened to leave off SRK and Gauri from their party list!
We do wonder what happened to the once friendly foursome, and we hope they sort out their issues soon!

Hrithik & Suzanne Celebrate Their 10th Wedding Anniversary

Superstar Hrithik Roshan, who marked the 10th anniversary of his marriage with Sussanne Khan yesterday, has thanked his friends and fans for their love.
‘Been reading all tweets…thank you so much for all your wonderful wishes! Sending our love to all out there,’ Hrithik posted on Twitter.
Actress Mallika Sherawat was among many who wished the couple.
‘Happy anniversary to Hrithik and Sussanne…A loveliest of couples! Many more happy years to you both,’ she posted. Hrithik and Sussanne have two children - Hrehaan, four, and Hridhaan, two.

Hrithik & Salman Come Face To Face At Sohail Khan’s Party

When Hrithik Roshan arrived at Sohail Khan’s pre-birthday party, his new rival Salman Khan who recently spoke bad about his film ‘Guzaarish’ and Sanjay Leela Bhansali was also there. Everyone expected some fireworks but nothing of that sort happened. When Hrithik spotted Salman, both of them exchanged pleasantries.
Says a source close to Hrithik, “He reacted emotionally, then felt bad later. In retrospect, he felt that he should’ve called Khan personally and told him that he’d been hurt by his statements, instead of expressing it in print.”
Not only Hrithik but his father Rakesh Roshan also spoke with Salman’s father Salim Khan and things were quite normal and pleasant between them.  When Duggu informs that he was hurt by his comment and reacted immediately, Salman said, ‘It’s ok, bro.”
A source present at the party said: “Duggu and Salman met each other cordially. Though they didn’t exchange anything more than a hello, it was like nothing was wrong between them. The vibes were comfortable, not hostile. While Duggu was seen socialising with his friends, Salman stuck to his group and his bodyguard Sheru in a corner.”

Hrithik Roshan - A New Singer Is Born In The Superstar

The director of the film Kites, Anurag asked Hrithik Roshan to lend his own vocals to a song in English for a particular song situation. Hrithik refused initially however, when Anurag told him that the song situation would look more genuine if he did his own playback Hrithik agreed. Though, that was just the Beginning. Hrithik was nervous and had to do lot of preparations. “When we came up with this song Anurag suggested that Hrithik and Barbara should sing it. I wasn’t sure whether Hrithik would agree even though he is a good singer. When Hrithik heard the song he immediately agreed and started rehearsing, but Barbara was not available so we found a singer Suzanne to sing the song. Barbara heard the song later and loved it. Suzanne came back to the recording studio when Barbara was around and in Barbara’s presence, Suzanne did the Spanish portions again so that she got the pronunciations perfect.” producer Rakesh Roshan added. 

Hrithik Roshan started recording his song at midnight and finished by 4 am. “When Duggu does something new he always put his best foot forward. All of us at home are very proud of him, because he has done such a commendable job.” As recalled by proud dad Rakesh Roshan. 
Hrithik too personalized the story and said, “I was forced to sing. My uncle Rajesh Roshan (the music director of Kites) came up with this tune and Anurag had this ridiculous notion that I could sing. Anurag’s logic was — here’s a guy who can act and dance well. And, since he knew that I have some knowledge of music, he just felt that I could sing my own song as well.” Anurag says, “Having Hrithik sing is the bonus feature.” 

Hrithik Roshan then actually learned from the basics “I started early in the morning with my sa re ga ma pa dha ni sa. Right from the time I woke up, even when brushing my teeth, while taking a shower I would keep singing sa re ga ma and would raise my hands to reach the highest scale and lowest note. My niece had learned the piano and she had a little Casio player, which I then borrowed. I finally got myself a professional trainer Suzanne who did the female portions in the song. When the actual recording was to be done, I got them to switch off all the lights in the studio because I wasn’t being able to get my best out. Only when the whole studio was blacked out did every note fall perfectly into place. Actually we first made the scratch and I thought I would record a final track again. But everyone just loved the scratch and they did not allow me to improvise on it.” Hrithik added.

Hrithik & Barbara Mori’s Chemistry In “Kites”

Filmkraft production’s Kites, directed by Anurag Basu is creating waves for Hrithik Roshan andBarbara Mori’s intense romance and sizzling lip-lock. The chemistry between the two is so deep that it has almost created a hole at Hrithik and Suzanne’s paradise. The first look of the film is out and it shows Hrithik and Barbara in intense love pose. Apart from lip-locking, Barbara kissed Hrithik’s chest.

It is a romantic thriller shot in Las Vegas. Kangana Ranaut will also be seen in a pivotal role. The film will be shot in bilingual, both in Hindi and English version.

According to sources, “It is a mega project for the Roshans, which will also mark Hrithik’s entry into the international market so they are being extremely sure of everything.” Rakesh Roshan is planning a grand release of the film worldwide and has not decided on the release date.

Hrithik’s Love Making Scenes In ‘Guzaarish’ Bothers Wife Suzanne

The Akbar of bollywood Hrithik Roshan is again in the eye of the storm. The actors love making scene with his co-star Monikangana Dutta in the film Guzaarish is becoming another source of worry for Hrithik’s family. Sussanne Roshan is getting increasingly worried about Hrithik’s roving eye. After his link up with Barbara Mori, Sussanne is leaving no chance to protect Hrithik from his leading ladies.
