New Delhi: It is a New Year calendar on Priyanka Gandhi Vadra - capturing her in various moods and colourful saris as she connects with voters in Uttar Pradesh. But the ruling Congress party refuses to say whether it is an indication that the important Gandhi family member will be finally joining politics.

The calender has also been posted on a website,pressbrief.in, that is a depository of information on the Gandhi family.

Congress sources say the calendar was posted on the website on January 12, Priyanka's birthday. It shows her interacting with voters in Rai Bareli and Amethi.

The calendar has led to conjecture about the possibility of her joining active politics in the coming months.

Available on the web, it can be downloaded by any person wishing to have a Priyanka Gandhi calendar.

Besides the 'Priyanka Gandhi Vadra - Rae BareliAmethi Calendar 2010', the website also contains New Year calendars on Rahul Gandhi andSonia Gandhi.

Priyanka Gandhi campaigned in Rae Bareli and Amethi, her mother and brother's parliamentary constituencies respectively, in the 2009 Lok Sabha elections but took questions from the media on national issues. There have been demands from party workers that she should join active politics.

The Congress refused to comment if the calendar signalled the younger Gandhi sibling joining politics.

Party spokesman Manish Tewari said the decision should be left to her will.

"There have been demands from time to time for her to join politics but the decision should be left to her will. It is her personal decision," Tewari said, and declined to speak about the calendar.

Party sources said that website 'pressbrief.in' was launched by people connected with Rahul Gandhi's campaign for the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections in 2007. It has information, photos and videos of rallies and speeches of the Gandhi family.

Another New Year calendar brought out to mark the 125th anniversary of the Congress features Priyanka Gandhi on its second page along with her brother Rahul Gandhi. The calendar has been brought out by Pradip Rathi, general secretary of Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee.

Aamir Khan To Perform On Stage After 10 Years

It may sound unbelievable but thats the fact. The occasion must be very special, for it has convinced none other than Aamir Khan to perform in it! Cine Artistes Association has planned a concert with the motive of improving the standard and generating funds for the junior artistes of Bollywood. And if sources are to be believed, superstar Aamir Khan will be seen on the stage performing for the audience after 10 long years.


On January 15, the Bollywood superstar, currently riding a wave of success with ‘3 Idiots’, will record his part for a concert that is being put up by the Cine & Television Artistes Association. Aamir reportedly agreed to do this concert because it is for a cause.

According to Johny Lever, the President of the Cine Artistes Association, “Our association has completed 50 years. I have personally requested Shah Rukh Khan,Salman Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Akshay Kumar, Aamir Khan, Hrithik Roshan and several other Bollywood biggies to perform for us. We need funds to rehabilitate and provide resources to junior artistes who are finding it hard to make ends meet.”

Salman Khan everytime comes out with something unexpected. We heard that while shooting in London for Veer, Salman hitchhiked a ride to reach his shoot. Apparently, the actor was staying 15 minutes from the location of the shoot, and on one unfortunate bad-traffic day, Salman was held up for over 45 minutes on the road.

It was crucial to reach the location on time, because they were losing the morning light, so Salman, as always, had a roundabout solution to the problem — but it worked. Our sources revealed that Sallu requested a biker for a ride, and the guy sweetly obliged. However, when the biker started riding slowly, Sallu made another plea. He asked if he could take over and ride the bike instead.

Well, after that he zipped, zapped, and zoomed on the two wheeler… all the way to the shoot. The biker was amazed, and when they reached the shoot he realised that he was in the company of our superstar. After that Sallu invited the guy on the sets, and he was so stunned by the entire experience that he hung around all day with Sallu. But in spirit our ‘The Italian Job’ will remain the same. So far, we’ve not locked in the entire cast. But we’re definitely in serious talks with all the names (Katrina, Priyanka) you’ve mentioned. It’s a very big project and we need to get the biggest names in place before we start.”

Though he never shows it in the public but still it was an emotional moment for Shah Rukh Khan when he entered Pragati Maidan today as it reminded him of his late father and the time he spent with his family here.

“My childhood was spent here in Pragati Maidan. My father used to have a shop here and when I entered Pragati Maidan (today) after so many years, which is about 30 years now since my father expired, I was very nostalgic and I missed my family… It’s very, very emotional,” said Shah Rukh.

Dressed in a jet-black buttoned overcoat, the 44-year-old was here to unveil Hyundai’s environment friendly car I10 Electric at the ongoing Auto Expo in Delhi. He is the brand ambassador of the company.

Wedding bells for Ritesh and Genelia

The actor is all set to tie the knot with Genelia D'Souza this year Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D'Souza are all set to solemnise their love story. The lovebirds who met on the set of their 2003 film Tujhe Meri Kasam and fell in love, will get married in 2010. It is believed that the families have given Ritiesh their blessings and the shaadi will take place in July this year.
